Playing at the
College Church of the Nazarene.

We passed quite a few cars that slid off the road on the sides of I-84 while looking for an exit to
turn around at.

You can make out the Boise sign here.

All for me! Ok, ok, I shared ;-)

With
Pastor Tim Pusey of
Valley Shepherd Nazarene.

Well, we just started a sabbatical for the first time in years... we are
staying in Idaho. We flew out here about two weeks ago. This is my first time
visiting this state. A few days after we arrived, I played during the offertory at the
Intermountain District Assembly of the Church of the Nazarene held inside
of the
College Church of the Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho... It was a hit!
I also want to celebrate with a friend of mine who had a dream come true!
She is Glenda, an English teacher in Costa Rica, who on the same day I
played at the Intermountain District Assembly, was meeting with
Princess Nora of Liechtenstein! She literally had a dream about getting to meet
Princess Nora, and that dream came true for her. She was able to thank
Princess Nora personally for the curriculum sent to Costa Rica on behalf of
the people of Liechtenstein that she uses to help her kids
learn English! I'm SOOOOO happy for her!

Notice how the landscape went from wet to white... They were taken just a
short distance from each other!

This is the exit we turned back at...

Playing my Baby Taylor and Electric at
Valley Shepherd Nazarene on my birthday!

This is a view of the mountains we would have gone towards had it not snowed
the other day!

The following Sunday we also visited the
Canyon Hill Church of the Nazarene in Caldwell, Idaho as
Rev. Philip McAlister the Field Director for
NAZNEF (Nazarene Northern European Field) was speaking there. We met
him two years ago at the
Nazarene
British Isles South District Holiday at the
Barnabas Frontier Centre in
England and had a good time getting to know him then. It was great to see
him again! I ended up playing a special performance during the service, and we are arranging a concert in the park
for sometime in August!
Incidentally, we had snow on May 22nd! It was quite a sight. As we were
driving about 25 miles outside of Boise, Idaho, the rain abruptly turned to a
heavy snow! It was almost like driving in a blizzard! The only thing that was missing was gusting wind, which thankfully, was missing.
The next day, my birthday, I played at
Valley Shepherd Church of the
Nazarene in Meridian, Idaho. It was a nice service, and a fun "picnic".
They ended up moving it indoors as it was so inclement outside. Ironically,
the picnic was to celebrate the beginning of summer, yet it was so cold and
damp outside. It did finally clear up outside so everyone was able to go out
and enjoy some games and fellowship.
I also am looking forward to exploring the mountains around us in the coming
days and weeks! The mountains look so beautiful all around us, I can't wait to
enjoy them. My dad and I are thinking of doing some gold panning while we
are here...sounds like fun even if we don't find any. Well until next
time...
Keep pickin' & grinnin'...
