BIT 8 December 09, 2006

Well, sorry for the delay. To say I've been busy lately would not cover it, plus our computer decided it wanted to crash, so that didn't help any! The good news is I've got plenty to fill you in on!

My guitar is still in progress......I got a little creative, so it'll take a lot longer to complete than the guitar I would have built.

Searching out the perfect pieces of wood here is a bit challenging, but rewarding, when I find a piece that's perfect for what I'm looking for that is!

I decided to save my Rosewood set for a different guitar project later on. The back that I'll be using instead has Cocobolo & Nispero with Maple lines. Nispero is similar to mahogany in color and hardness. I'll fill you in on that in a later Bit!

The Master Class I told you about in the last Bit went off super well! Every one who participated really enjoyed themselves...I was asked a lot of great questions!! After the Master Class, Pablo Ortiz invited my parents and me to his home for dinner. And after many hours of visiting and playing different songs together, we invited him and his family to our house for a big spaghetti feed and a day of guitar playing! They showed up with 9 family members including his brother who plays bass guitar, so we had a real jam session going on from about 1pm to midnight! Now that was a really great time!

I also did a private concert for a good friend of mine, who invited all of his friends. I played one of my new pieces called, "Mustang Roundup". Afterwards, when I was autographing CDs, one of the men at the party told me that he had actually been on a mustang roundup, and when I was playing it, he felt like he was back in the saddle! That was a nice compliment!

While in Panama I also got to play at a local University for the student body in a really nice amphitheater setting…Afterwards, the Professor of Music invited me to play in two other programs that were held in two different towns! Both of the programs went well, and I met some new folks that will be helping me to get other gigs to play at as well!

I also got to play for the Mayor of the town, and afterwards he invited me to play at Panama's Independence Day parade and during that all day event, I met the Governor as well.

Well, I guess I'll close down for now…I'll try to be more prompt for the next Bit…God willing! J Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Buddy
