El pueblo de Costa Rica es conocido como Ticos.
Pero el pais de Costa Rica tiene otros sobrenombres
Como mi Tiquicia, Ticolandia y Suiza Centroamericana.
Y por eso llegan los extranjeros a visitar mi terruno!

Y cuando ellos vienen a mi tierra ellos vienen anticipando
De las maravillas que van a ver en el mar y en las montanas!
Y despues que ellos han disfrutado de lo nuestro con alegria.
Ellos aprenden otro sobrenombre pa’ Costa Rica.

Ellos aprenden que Costa Rica es un pais con muchos huecos.
Estan en las calles y carreteras, en la ciudad y el campo!
Porque no reconstruir las calles? Es una pregunta con respuesta.
Porque no existen los huecos en las bolsas de los presidentes!

Y tambien el piensa que su auto puede pasar la inspeccion de autos.
Pero es imposible que su auto no tenga al menos dos o tres problemas.
Es por eso que debes orar cuando manejas en la calle
Que los huecos no causen mas problemas antes que lleguen!

Y despues de que los extranjeros regresaron, ellos cambiaron
El sobrenombre de Costa Rica, Ticolandia a Huecolandia!
Y tambien los Ticos reconocen que Costa Rica tiene muchos huecos.
Y suficiente para que ellos cambien el grito deportivo…

The people of Costa Rica are known as Ticos ….
But the country of Costa Rica has other nicknames
Like my Tiquicia, Ticoland and the Switzerland of Central America.
And for this, foreigners come to visit my beautiful land!

And when they come to my land, they come in anticipation
Of the marvels that they will see in the sea and in the mountains!
And after they’ve enjoyed what is ours with gladness
They learn another nickname for Costa Rica.

They learn that Costa Rica is a country with many potholes
They’re in the streets and highways, in the city and the country!
Why don’t they repair the streets? is a question with an answer,
Because there are no holes in the pockets of the presidents!

And he also thinks that your car will pass the vehicle inspection.
But it is impossible for your car not to have at least two or three problems.
And because of this, you must pray when you drive on the street
That the potholes don’t cause more problems before you arrive.

And after that the foreigners have returned, they change…
The nickname of Costa Rica, Ticoland to Potholeland!
And the Ticos also recognize that Costa Rica has many potholes.
